Getting Started
Before adding sessions, you'll need to:
- Add at least one Subject.
- Set up your Schedule Rotation. You'll be prompted to do this when you first launch the app, or you can set it up later under Settings > Schedule.
To add a session, tap the + icon in the top-right corner of the Home tab. You can also open a subject and tap the + icon in its detail view. Then follow the on-screen steps to enter the session details.
The Schedule tab displays sessions for your current subjects during the current week of your schedule rotation.
Yes. My School is available on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro, with an experience tailored to each device.
Your data syncs securely through iCloud, so your subjects, schedule, and other information stay up to date across devices signed in to the same Apple Account.
Yes. Your data is stored locally on your device, so your schedules, assignments, exams, and attachments remain accessible without an internet connection.
Smart features such as Smart Brief, Suggestions, and Summaries can also work offline using on-device Apple Intelligence models, once the required models have been downloaded.
An internet connection is still required for:
- Syncing and downloading data through iCloud
- Accessing Wellbeing articles
- More advanced smart features that use Private Cloud Compute (PCC)
My School runs natively across the Apple ecosystem. Newer app versions require newer operating systems to take advantage of the latest platform features — the table below shows what each release supports.

Sessions & Entries
Tap the + icon in the top-right corner of the Home tab, then choose the type of entry you want to add, such as an assignment or exam. Enter the details and follow the on-screen steps to save it.
You can also open the relevant subject and tap the + icon in its detail view. The new entry will automatically be linked to that subject.
The Schedule tab only displays sessions for your current subjects during the current week of your Schedule Rotation.
Check that:
- The session is linked to the correct subject.
- The subject is marked as current.
- The session is assigned to the correct rotation week.
- The session’s day and time are correct.
- Your Schedule Rotation is set up correctly.
If the session is still missing, make sure you have the latest version of My School installed. When using multiple devices, also check your internet connection and allow time for iCloud to sync your changes.
Yes. When adding or editing an assignment or another entry, enable Notifications and choose when you’d like to be reminded.
Notification permission must be enabled for My School to receive . You can manage this in your device’s Settings > Notifications > My School.
Notifications & Permissions
Check that notifications are enabled for My School in Settings > Notifications > My School and that Allow Notifications is turned on.
If notifications are enabled, make sure:
- A notification has been turned on for the assignment or entry.
- The reminder time hasn't already passed.
- Focus modes or Scheduled Summary aren't delaying notifications.
- Your device's date, time, and time zone are correct.
You can edit an entry to review or change its notification settings.
Notifications, Location, Photo Library, Camera, Contacts, and Apple Health are all optional and only used for the features you choose to use. See the Privacy Policy for details on each.
Open your device Settings, find My School, and re-enable the permission. Nothing is lost — permissions can be granted or revoked at any time.
Wellbeing
Wellbeing helps you reflect on your emotional health alongside your studies. You can record and rate how you feel each day, as well as how you feel about individual assignments and other entries.
My School uses these ratings to calculate a Wellbeing Score from –1 to 1, representing your overall emotional state. Based on your score, the app may recommend relevant Wellbeing articles that could help.
With Apple Intelligence enabled, My School can also generate personalised insights using on-device intelligence. Apple Intelligence is required for these insights, while an internet connection is needed to access recommended articles.
Wellbeing is intended for personal reflection and general guidance—it is not a medical assessment or a substitute for professional support.
Yes. State of Mind entries are stored securely within Apple Health and are never accessible to us.
With your permission, My School automatically saves your Mental Wellbeing Score to Apple Health as a State of Mind entry. It is categorised as a momentary emotion or daily mood, depending on how you record it.
Time spent reading or browsing Wellbeing articles is also recorded as Mindful Minutes in Apple Health.
Apple Health records are managed separately from My School. Deleting a record in My School—or deleting the app itself—will not remove records already saved to Apple Health. You can view or delete them directly in the Health app.
Wellbeing articles require an internet connection. Check that your device is online, then try loading the article again.
If you’re in mainland China and using My School 2.1 or earlier, Wellbeing articles are unavailable. Make sure you have the latest version of My School installed to access the most recent availability and improvements.
Account & Data
Your data is stored locally on your device and synced across your devices through your personal iCloud account when iCloud is enabled.
My School does not store your data on its own servers. If you turn off iCloud syncing, your data will remain on your device but will no longer stay in sync with your other devices.
You can delete individual subjects, sessions, assignments, exams, and other entries directly in My School. If iCloud syncing is enabled, these deletions will sync across your devices.
Deleting My School from a device removes its locally stored data, but data saved in iCloud may remain available for syncing. To permanently remove all synced data, you’ll also need to delete My School’s data from your iCloud storage.
Records previously saved to Apple Health—such as State of Mind entries and Mindful Minutes—are managed separately and must be deleted directly in the Health app.
Troubleshooting
First, make sure the latest version of My School is installed on both devices, and both devices are signed in to the same Apple Account and that iCloud syncing is enabled for My School. Connect both devices to the internet and allow a moment for recent changes to sync.
Also check that:
- My School is up to date on both devices.
- The same subjects and Schedule Rotation settings appear on both devices.
- Both devices use the correct date, time, and time zone.
- You’re viewing the same week of your schedule rotation.
Remember, the Schedule tab only shows sessions for your current subjects in the current rotation week.
First, make sure you have the latest version of My School installed.
If you created sessions or other entries using My School 2.0.2 or earlier, the app may have trouble loading them because My School 2.1 introduced upgraded data models.
To update your older data, go to Settings > Data > Data Migration and follow the on-screen instructions.
Important: Data migration may result in the loss of some session data.
If the issue continues—or My School repeatedly closes unexpectedly—you can start fresh by going to Settings > Data > Reset All Data.
Warning: Reset All Data permanently deletes all data saved in My School. Use this option only as a last resort.
Go to Settings > Contact Us, or tap the email button at the bottom of this page.
When reporting a bug, please include:
- A description of the issue and what you expected to happen
- The steps that caused the issue
- Screenshots or a screen recording, if possible
- Your device model and operating-system version
Before contacting us, make sure you have the latest version of My School installed, as the issue may have already been fixed. Please don’t include sensitive or personal information in your report.
